The First Contact Counselling Navigator service is run by PIPS Hope & Support, providing a single point of access into specialist suicide prevention crisis services and suicide bereavement services

PIPS Hope & Support is a service providing psychological therapies to clients with suicidal ideation to moderate mental health issues and families who have loss loved ones to Suicide. The main priority of this position is to work as part of the Counselling team and manage client referrals into PIPS Hope & Support.

The majority of referral's come by telephone so there is a requirement to answer calls in a timely manner while eliciting pertinent screening information and accurately recording client information into the Salesforce and CORE database. this includes completing Initial Assessments, booking of appointments or referring/sign posting onto other services. excellent communication skills are essential to ensure clients are appropriate for the service. there must be clear and accurate documentation that reflects information provided during the referral and screening process. this is a busy office working environment, it is therefore essential to possess the ability to prioritise on multitask.

Due to the high level of direct client contact via phone, the successful applicant will be required to demonstrate a wide range of communication skills to overcome cultural differences, disabilities, mental health issues or other factors that inhibit effective communication and understanding.
