Official Launch - The WELL-Bean Cafe
On Monday 29th March 2021, PIPS Hope and Support virtually launched a new pilot project - The WELL-Bean Cafe - a new initiative to support the mental health and wellbeing of individuals.
The project, which is the first of its kind in Northern Ireland is funded by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust initially for six months. The design of the project has been supported by employing a co-design and co-production lived experience model alongside a stakeholder analysis approach.
This significant initiative will provide a clinical alternative to the A&E Department and operate over evenings and weekends, for people who are experiencing mental or emotional distress.
We had 60+ attendees with a range of guests and speakers including First Minister, Arlene Foster, Deputy-First Minister, Michelle O’Neill, NMMDC Chair, Laura Devlin, SHSCT Director of Mental Health & Disability Services, Barney McNeany and all MC’d by Men’s Advisory Group Member, Tom McAllister.
Ensure to keep an eye out for more information about this new, fundamental service.
