PIPS Hope and Support, 2021 Christmas Service of Remembrance, Hope & Healing for Families and Friends Bereaved Through Suicide
PIPS Hope & Support, 2021 Christmas Service of Remembrance, Hope & Healing for Families and Friends bereaved through suicide.
Statement from the Chief Executive, Seamus McCabe:
"Every year, PIPS Hope & Support welcomes suicide bereaved families and friends to a Christmas Service of Remembrance, Hope & Healing to celebrate the life of their loved ones and to gain comfort from Personal Reflections, Poems, Beautiful Music & Singing, a Candlelight Possession and a Memory Tree service.
This year the service will be hosted in St Mary Church Of Ireland, Hill Street Newry on Sunday 12th December at 4pm however due to COVID-19 restrictions, only 100 people are permitted to enter the church to attend the service, anyone wishing to attend the service in person is asked to register their interest as soon as possible, by contacting the PIPS Hope & Support office on, T: 028 3026 6195 or Email Roisin@pipshopeandsupport.org this will ensure a seat is available and thus allocated to them, however anyone wishing to attend the service virtually can do so by logging on to St Patrick's & St Mary's Church of Ireland Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/StPatricksandStMarysNewry on the day.
Links to the online service described above will be shared from the St Patrick's & St Mary's Church of Ireland own Facebook account and from PIPS Hope and Support Facebook account. We here at PIPS Hope & Support are determined to ensure families and friends can still come together and share that experience so that we feel less alone in our grief.
The Christmas service of Remembrance, Hope and Healing offers a time for personal reflection and remembrance and as with previous years, Memorial Candles will be lit during the service and Memorial Cards will be added to the Memory Tree, if any family member, friend, neighbour or colleague would like to add a Memorial Card to the Memory Tree, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the PIPS Hope & Support Office, 028 3026 6195 with the sentiments that you would like added to the card and we will ensure that it is placed on the Remembrance Tree during the service by our volunteer bereaved family members.
And as in past years the Remembrance Tree will be displayed in the Newry Cathedral over the Christmas period.
I would like to add that I do hope this year’s Christmas Service brings comfort and peace to those who need it".
