Seamus McCabe
Seamus is the Founder and Chief Executive of PIPS Hope & Support, established in 2003 following the death of his son Seamas who tragically died, age 20 by suicide, since then the Charity has evolved into the leading suicide prevention charity in the Southern Trust, with premises in Newry & Lurgan and outreach hubs across the Southern Trust area and now employing 17 staff and delivering on a range of counselling & Suicide bereavement services and training programmes. Seamus is focused on innovative and expansion services that are available to vulnerable and is constantly seeking new and better ways of supporting those that are experiencing suicidal ideation, self-harm or who need somewhere to go when mentally or emotionally distressed and more recently Seamus has been instrumental in the development and launch of the PIPS Hope & Support, WELL Bean Café, ( Crisis Café) the first of its kind in Northern Ireland, operating over weekends and evenings, aimed at adults and carers
Seamus says his greatest love is spending much loved fun time with his 4 grandchildren and taking his two Yorkshire Terriers on long walks
