Sean Doran Boxing Club Christmas Fundraiser

SEAN DORAN BOXING CLUB & FRIENDS 5KM X 4HRS X 48HR CHALLENGE

Recently Sean Doran Boxing Club Keady embarked on an ambitious challenge to run/walk or crawl 5km every 4hrs for a total of 48hrs.
The club asked members & friends to get involved and what a response they received. With the communities support they were able to run or walk 600 runs of 5km inside the 48hr mark. Doing the sums this comes to 3000km and equates to running around the coast of Ireland.
Sean Doran Boxing Club aims each year, to promote Mental and Physical Health & Well Being in the community and in these times which are very challenging for us all, they were determined to make a big effort this year. So with the challenge set, they got the word out to the community and quite honestly the support received was overwhelming.
When all was complete they raised an incredible £10,500 and with their continued support for suicide prevention, they have donated a fantastic £2,500.00 to our charity.
Francis Fullerton, the main organiser said “We are very proud and honored to help PIPS Hope & Support who we know carry out immense and invaluable work for the community. A quite brilliant charity and we know the money will help an awful lot of people.”
Along with PIPS Hope & Support the club were able to help out 4 other charities (Mary's Meals, SVP Keady, Crohns & Colitis NI and Southern Area Hospice).
PIPS Hope and Support send our sincere thanks to Francis, the club, their families and supporters for this wonderful donation and continued support which is greatly appreciated by us all.
Best wishes to the club for the year ahead.
