Shauna Quinn
Shauna is an Integrated counsellor at PIPS Hope and Support. She graduated from Belfast Met Foundation Degree in Counselling in June 2022 and has been privileged to provide counselling to individuals experiencing distress since then. Upon joining PIPS Hope and Support in September 2023, Shauna quickly felt welcomed into a team that is dedicated to the positive impact that quality talking therapy can have.
Shauna believes that as humans, we experience a wide range of emotions, not all of which are positive and can sometimes become overwhelming. Her role involves reaching out to others to help make sense of these emotions together.
As an Integrated therapist, Shauna utilizes various models of therapy including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (linking thoughts, emotions, and actions), Humanistic Therapy (recognizing that individuals hold the solutions to their own problems), Psychotherapy (exploring how past relationships influence present behavior), Somatic Therapy (understanding how our bodies reflect emotional pain), and Polyvagal Therapy (examining how our nervous system responds when we feel unsafe).
Shauna's approach to counselling is rooted in a deep understanding of the complexities of human emotions and behavior, and she is committed to helping individuals navigate their emotional challenges to achieve positive transformation.
