Swapping The Gaelic Pitch For The Boxing Ring In Aid Of PIPS Hope and Support
A successful charity boxing event was held at Hilltown INF Hall, resulting in a cheque for £1,100 being presented to PIPS Hope and Support. The event was organised by Kevin Shepperd from Rathfriland CC ABC, who brought together four Gaelic footballers to swap the GAA pitch for the boxing ring during the boxing club’s Senior Show on Saturday evening (June 4).
The competition was fierce, but Katie O’Neill from St Malachy’s Castlewellan GAC emerged victorious, beating Ciara Devlin from Annaclone GAA in the final. The event was a great success, and the participants were thrilled to present the cheque to Brian Hyland on behalf of PIPS Hope and Support.
In the photo, we see Amy McEvoy (Clonduff GAC), Lena King, Katie O’Neill, Ciara Devlin and her daughter Eirinn, and Niamh McEvoy presenting the cheque to Brian Hyland. Seana Maginn (Drumgath GAC) was unable to attend but was also a part of the event.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Kevin, the six ladies who took to the ring, and everyone who attended, donated, and supported the event. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.
