Terex Globals Boost to Suicide Prevention Services
Local business gives big boost to suicide prevention services.
A Craigavon business’ push to generate funds for suicide prevention and awareness pays off after their year-long charity endeavour comes to an end.
Employees from Terex Global Business Services in Silverwood Business Park have spent the last year focusing on raising as much as possible for PIPS Hope and Support, a charity that provides vital mental health services to residents across the wider community.
On Monday 24th February, representatives from Terex GBS Fundraising Committee presented a cheque to the charity for £8,490.00 - a culmination of their 2019 year-long fundraising drive.
PIPS Hope and Support thank the staff who were completely committed and consistent in delivering charity focused events throughout the year with the aim to achieve as much money as possible for our services. We wish to take this opportunity to truly thank them not only for this huge donation, but also for the huge awareness they have created for our charity.
Terex team members participated in the Newry 10k sponsored run and organised a number of fundraising events including a quiz, a golf sweepstake, odd socks day, and various cake sales throughout the year.
Cheryl Magookin, GBS UK Finance Director said: “At Terex we operate through our six company values, one of which is Citizenship; and encourage Team Members to give back to their local community. We were delighted to present PIPS Charity with a cheque for over £8,000 that will go towards supporting its work in suicide prevention and bereavement support, right across Northern Ireland. It is the culmination of hard work, dedication and generosity by the entire GBS UK team and their families and I’d like to thank them all for getting involved in the wide range of fundraising and volunteering activities throughout the year.”
